Journalist and Visual Artist
My name is Alejandra and I'm a Peruvian bilingual journalist and visual artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Throughout my career, I've covered several beats including social justice, food, real estate, beauty, entertainment and politics.
I currently work as an assistant audio producer at iHeartMedia and freelance journalist for several outlets including local newspaper San Jose Spotlight, entertainment and lifestyle site The List and Latino-focused publication Palabra NAHJ. I'm also the first senior editor of Mi Voz Media, a digital publication focused on people of color in the arts.
On top of my journalism work, I'm illustrating a digital-native sci-fi graphic novel with tentative release date Fall 2021.
Whenever I'm not writing, drawing or photographing, you can find me biking around the city or playing with my cat Mochi.
